MSc Student

I am a MSc student in the UNBC Natural Resources and Environmental Studies program, under the supervision of Dr. Eduardo Martins. I am passionate about the conservation and effective management of freshwater salmonid populations. Through my work, I strive to produce high-quality research that deepens our understanding of how the changing climate and increased temperatures are shaping the future of these species. For my graduate research, I am studying rainbow trout (Onchorhynchus mykiss) thermoregulation and the energetic cost of thermoregulation based on select physical and environmental attributes. To do this, I am using radio telemetry to track fish physiology and habitat selection in combination with habitat monitoring on the Stellako River in British Columbia. This research is being conducted in collaboration with the Stellat'en First Nation, and is made possible due to funding from Artemis Gold Inc. and management services from Ecofish Research Ltd.
