Kirsten Mathison
MSc Student

I am a MSc student in the Natural Resources and Environmental Studies program at UNBC, studying under Dr. Eduardo Martins. My research focuses on rainbow trout (Oncorhynchus mykiss) in the Stellako River. Informed by field-based experiments to quantify thermal maxima, I will develop thermal tolerance landscapes that quantify the probability of survival under varying temperature regimes. This work will inform predictions about climate vulnerability and help guide management strategies for rainbow trout. This research is funded by the Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council of Canada (NSERC) and Rio Tinto.
